WE DON'T NEED A TEACHER TO SEEK FOR KNOWLEDGE, INFORMATION OR WISDOM

WE DON'T NEED A TEACHER TO SEEK FOR KNOWLEDGE, INFORMATION OR WISDOM

We don’t need a teacher to seek for knowledge, information or wisdom. All these are available in the internet, libraries and bookstores. We need a teacher who can inspire and keep us motivated to change, someone who can challenge and transform our way of thinking in order that we become teachers too to be able to help the world.

With all the advances in technology, there is no doubt that knowledge, information, and wisdom are all readily available. With access to the internet, libraries, and bookstores, it can seem like there is no need for a teacher to seek out these things anymore. But this line of thought ignores the other critical elements of a teacher’s work: the power of inspiration and motivation.

When we encounter a difficult problem, it is sometimes easy to just give up and find a different route. A great teacher, however, can provide the spark that keeps us going. The source of inspiration may come in the form of a pep talk, a spirited lecture, or a simple gesture. Whatever it is, it can unlock an inner power and create an enthusiasm for learning that often carries us to our destination.

Moreover, a great teacher carries the power and the responsibility for challenging and transforming the way we think about the world. An enthusiastic teacher with a passion for learning can lead students down a path they may never have gone down before, making them realize the endless possibilities of knowledge. This is something no internet search engine can provide.

Finally, the work of a teacher goes beyond the classroom. A great teacher is someone who can produce teachers, who can inspire their students to pass the gift of learning and wisdom to the wider world. By teaching their students to set a good example and to share their knowledge with others, a teacher can make a much more lasting impact than just knowledge or information.

In conclusion, while it is true that knowledge, information, and wisdom can be easily accessed and studied by modern technology, the results will almost certainly be much better and more meaningful when guided by a great teacher. Through motivation, inspiration, challenge, and transformation, a teacher can help students reach a level of understanding and proficiency that is nearly impossible to get from technological resources. In this way, the work of a great teacher can continue long after the end of a single lesson, helping to create a world with boundless opportunities and possibilities.
