I AM KAMALAYAN MOVEMENT
Spiritual Laws, Principles, and Wisdom in the 21st Century.
The world has drastically changed but one's beliefs, behaviors, and philosophies are still mired in a world that no longer exists. The world is now experiencing a perplexed period of transition wherein we now clearly see new leaders who can inspire and energize others. In this age of great change and uncertainty, there are new opportunities and challenges to be faced, but only those who are creative, those who have the right imagination of a new world will flourish.
People ask me as to what I believe in when it comes to my faith. I tell them that I don’t believe anything from my past anymore. I’ve let go many of my beliefs because for me they didn’t work in my life positively. I found out that the dogmas, commandments and other theological teachings taught to me limited my spiritual growth instead. I searched for new answers and learned new spiritual laws and principles which changed my life for the better.
I attended Science of Mind seminars of Charlie Barretto based on the writings of Ernest Holmes. For eighteen years I was a student of George Sison at the Temple of Prayer, Peace, and Prosperity studying New Thought principles. I joined Neale Donald Walsch' Conversations with God study groups, and took up an online course on Spiritual Psychology at the University of Santa Monica.
In 1996, I was recruited to be a member of the Optimist Club of the Philippines, a movement that promoted optimism or being positive as a way of life. I was tasked to form a chapter in Quezon City. We had regular weekly morning meetings in McDonald's, Katipunan in front of Ateneo. Our concern then was how to recruit new members. A co-member invited her friends who were young mothers then who'd wait for more than 3 hours in front of the gate of Miriam College for their daughters to finish their classes. Around 10 of them became regular members. All I required them to do was to memorize the Optimist Creed and live it.
“The Optimist Creed,” which was written by Christian D. Larson was originally published in 1910 as “Promise Yourself.” Later, it was officially adopted as the manifesto of Optimist International of which I became president of The Optimist Club of Quezon City. In 1997, our QC chapter became part of the Philippine delegation who attended the 1997 Optimist International Convention held at the Renaissance Center, in Detroit, Michigan.
THE OPTIMIST CREED
Promise Yourself…
To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet.
To make all your friends feel that there is something in them.
To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.
To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.
To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.
To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud words, but in great deeds.
To live in the faith that the whole world is on your side, so long as you are true to the best that is in you.
I studied and applied them in my daily life and I am very happy to say that I realized they already existed within me and I never had to believe in anything else anymore. Now just by knowing these spiritual principles, they cleared my unresolved issues that blocked my dreams from happening.
Truly, I have Spiritually Awakened.
THIS IS THE GOD I BELIEVE IN.
(From Neale Donald Walsh' Tomorrow's God.)
1. Tomorrow's God does not require anyone to believe in God.
2. Tomorrow's God is without gender, size, shape, color, or any of the characteristics of an individual living being.
3. Tomorrow's God talks with everyone, all the time.
4. Tomorrow's God is separate from nothing, but is Everywhere Present, the All In All, the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, The Sum Total of Everything that ever was, is now, and ever shall be.
5. Tomorrow's God is not a singular Super Being, but the extraordinary process called Life.
6. Tomorrow's God is ever changing.
7. Tomorrow's God is needless.
8. Tomorrow's God does not ask to be served, but is the Servant of all of Life.
9. Tomorrow's God will be unconditionally loving, nonjudgmental, noncondemning, and nonpunishing.
The Declaration of Principles
Originally conceived as "What I Believe" by Ernest Holmes, in 1927
We believe in God, the Living Spirit Almighty; one, indestructible, absolute and
self-existent Cause.
This One manifests Itself in and through all creation, but is not absorbed by Its
creation.
The manifest universe is the body of God; it is the logical and necessary outcome
of the infinite self-knowingness of God.
We believe in the incarnation of the Spirit in all people and that all people are
incarnations of the One Spirit.
We believe in the eternality, the immortality, and the continuity of the individual soul,
forever and ever expanding.
We believe that Heaven is within us and that we experience it to the degree that we
become conscious of it.
We believe the ultimate goal of life to be a complete emancipation from all discord of
every nature and that this goal is sure to be attained by all.
We believe in the unity of all life, and that the highest God and the innermost God is
one God.
We believe that God is personal to all who feel this indwelling Presence.
We believe in the direct revelation of truth through the spiritual and intuitive nature
of each person and that anyone may become a revealer of truth who lives in close contact with the indwelling God.
We believe that the Universal Spirit, which is God, operates through a Universal Mind,
which is the Law of God; and that we are surrounded by this Creative Mind which
receives the direct impress of our thought and acts upon it.
We believe in the healing of the sick through the power of this Mind.
We believe in the control of conditions through the power of this Mind.
We believe in the eternal goodness, the eternal loving-kindness, and eternal
givingness of Life to all.
We believe in our own soul, our own spirit, and our own destiny, for we understand
that the life of all is God.
Declaration of Principles of New Thought
taken directly from the International New Thought Alliance. (INTA)
1. We affirm God as Mind, Infinite Being, Spirit, Ultimate Reality.
2. We affirm that God, the Good, is supreme, universal, and everlasting.
3. We affirm the unity of God and humanity, in that the divine nature dwells within and expresses through each of us, by means of our acceptance of it, as health, supply, wisdom, love, life, truth, power, beauty, and peace.
4. We affirm the power of prayer and the capacity of each person to have mystical experience with God, and to enjoy the grace of God.
5. We affirm the freedom of all persons as to beliefs, and we honor the diversity of humanity by being open and affirming of all persons, affirming the dignity of human beings as founded on the presence of God within them, and, therefore, the principle of democracy.
6. We affirm that we are all spiritual beings, dwelling in a spiritual universe that is governed by spiritual law, and that in alignment with spiritual law, we can heal, prosper, and harmonize.
7. We affirm that our mental states are carried forward into manifestation and become our experience in daily living.
8. We affirm the manifestation of the kingdom of heaven here and now.
9. We affirm expression of the highest spiritual principle in loving one another unconditionally, promoting the highest good for all, teaching and healing one another, ministering to one another, and living together in peace, in accordance with the teachings of Jesus and other enlightened teachers.
10. We affirm our evolving awareness of the nature of reality and our willingness to refine our beliefs accordingly.
(Here are some Spiritual Psychology Principles I have learned from University of Santa Monica)
SPIRITUAL PSYCHOLOGY PRINCIPLES
1. We are not human beings with Souls. We are Souls having a human experience.
2. The nature of God is Love.
3. Direct experience is the process through which belief or faith is transformed into knowing.
4. Since we are all part of God, our nature also is Love, and we have the opportunity to know and experience our Loving Nature here and now.
5. Physical world reality exists for Spiritual Awakening.
6. Spiritual Awakening is a process, not an event.
7. All of life is for learning.
8. An unresolved issue is anything that disturbs your peace.
9. Everytime a single person resolves a single issue, angels rejoice and all of humanity works forward in its evolution.
10. All “becauses” are merely triggers to internal unresolved issues inviting completion.
11. Inner disturbances are themselves a major component of the spiritual curriculum you are here to complete.
12. Unresolved issues are not bad; they are just part of your spiritual curriculum and are an opportunity for healing.
13. Personal Responsibility is the foundational key that opens the doors to freedom.
14. Nothing outside of you causes your disturbances.
15. You create your future by how you respond to experiences now.
16. How you relate to yourself while you go through the issue is the issue.
17. What you believe determines your experiences.
18. A life filled with acceptance is a life devoid of unnecessary emotional suffering. It’s a life filled with love.
19. Your primary goal is not to change the school; your primary goal is to graduate.
20. Healing is the application of Loving to the places inside that hurt.
21. Loving, Healing, and Evolving are all the same process.
22. Judgment is self-condemnation. Self-Forgiveness is redemption; and Compassion, Acceptance, Peace, and Joy naturally follow.
