Transformative Communicators – The new messengers of oneness
For some time now, I had been waiting excitedly to share a new form of communication process I discovered. Although I had been lecturing in some colleges and universities on communication subjects, I felt there was something amiss in what I was teaching. I noticed how the world was changing so fast and things were not the same anymore in terms of technology, lifestyle, education and especially our social and spiritual lives. I learned most of these changes were a result of how and what we communicated to ourselves and to each other. I began searching for some answers and became interested in subjects such as psychology, philosophy, metaphysics, neuroscience, theology, history and political science. Eventually, I found there was power in how and what we communicate.
In this era of modern communication, I came across a new breed of communicators who were instrumental in bringing about a new world through a different insight. Their messages were based on the great teachings of their precursors such as Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha and Confucius, whose original teachings unfortunately were misunderstood and distorted. The transformation of human behavior or consciousness was significant to the goals of these Transformative Communicators in conveying their messages on creating a heaven on earth through oneness.
In a summer workshop I had conducted for people involved in community development where I taught a communication process called Transformative Communication, I observed that they had difficulty in teaching and effecting the change they wanted to take root in their respective communities. Their problem was that what they taught came from the same level of thinking and beliefs as that of the groups they wanted to help. No wonder, I said to myself, that this was basically one of the main reasons we have not experienced the development we wish to attain. We have communicators who themselves were not able to get past their own defective cultural mindsets. We, as a people, have what we call a “damaged” culture wherein lies most of our woes. What we taught and are still teaching in schools is based on old sets of beliefs mainly cultural that had wrought havoc instead to our country. The “undevelopmental” messages imparted stemmed from “undevelopmental” communicators- thus producing an undeveloped country. Most of the insights I shared in that workshop became the tenets in writing my book that provided radical answers in meeting the needs of a transformed world.
The crisis we are experiencing in our world today is not a failure of leadership nor a failure in government, but a failure to communicate a new belief system needed in this changed world. This transformation will happen by using a new creative communication process which I call Transformative Communication wherein people are challenged, empowered and inspired to change belief systems to face a new reality, unmet potentials and opportunities ushering in a new consciousness toward oneness.
Transformative Communicator - A communicator of change
I wish to invite everyone to become a Transformative Communicator. How does one become a Transformative Communicator?
A Transformative Communicator is an individual who communicates to oneself and to others a new level of consciousness wherein one transcends with courage and creativity perceived chaos, difficulties, disorders, fears and confusion brought about by old beliefs through a new vision of life, love and spirituality. One’s heart and mind understand the mysteries and principles of being human and divine to inspire and touch other hearts. It is only in imagination and inspiration where real transformation can take place.
A Transformative Communicator is an individual from any culture, nationality, or religion who communicates change using new belief systems, locally or globally, by starting with oneself first.
20 QUALITIES OF A TRANSFORMATIVE COMMUNICATOR
1. A Transformative Communicator has a new vision of a new world.
He knows how a changed world looks like. But this change doesn’t happen in the outside world. This world is inside people, in individuals- a different world in each one. He perceives things extraordinarily. He knows that he can see, hear, taste, touch and smell things in so many ways and experience a world he has never imagined before.
The real secret in discovering a new world is to discover more of himself. Most of those who contribute new achievements study various subjects but the most significant learning that they experience is when they strive to better understand themselves. They discover a new vision of themselves. It is as if something suddenly appears inside their minds and a sense of wonderment immediately lifts them up to a thinking wherein everything makes sense.
Being a visionary, he dreams of a better future. He knows that he has the power to make a difference. By sharing his vision with others, he knows that he is called to make it happen and he cannot let them down. What he can conceive, he can create. He knows very well how he can make this world a reality.
The Transformative Communicator knows that the world he lives in is about to end in terms of what is happening right now. The old world, whose decadent standards are now hastening its inimitable collapse, is fighting a losing battle. To reach a new order, there are no quick fixes and it entails a complex process, but there is no other way except to communicate a new set of rules and beliefs that conform with the changing reality of things. People have to be informed as to what works and what does not work anymore.
The path to a transformed world comes with a series of levels leading to a new consciousness not easily understood. The secret lies within the search of oneself. The world we are looking for is really inside every one of us. The problem is we look for it outside of us. Transformative Communicators are agents of change. They communicate expansion, growth, harmony, joy, life, love, beauty and oneness. This is their vision of a new world.
Teachers open the door, but you must enter yourself. – Chinese proverb
2. A Transformative Communicator transforms.
To reform is to effect change by criticizing, mending and correcting, hoping that something better will happen. It is a slow process wherein the outcome seems remote because it is done in a negative manner usually as a result of a negative action or punishment. Development is a slow growth process while transformation involves radical change.
A Transformative Communicator explores new ideas, examines other possibilities and questions belief systems. He alters his line of thinking with new concepts and he experiments with the unknown. He analyzes what has to change and the reasons why it has to change.
We had been programmed since childhood of certain beliefs that we still carry with us to adulthood. Many fears that we have are a result of this programming. The way we live our life is the sum total of all our beliefs whether positive or negative. Our world is the way it is now because of some outdated beliefs of 2,000 years ago that are still influencing us. Many doctrines present in most of our popular religions written to suit the early primitive times are still being used to control our lives at present. It would take real transformation to effect changes in our modern world.
The question is whether people have the courage to question their own traditions and religious beliefs. Given the condition of our world today, specifically our lives, are we contented where we are now? If not, then we really have to start searching for new answers to our old problems.
Even Transformative Communicators themselves are looking for answers that everyone else is looking for. Now is the chance to unite and work together to establish the new order by cooperating in a manner in which we start opening up our minds in accepting new insights about life in general, and learning about ourselves in particular. There is a new world to be explored and discovered but only those who will take the risk and let go of their past negative beliefs will get there.
The whole art of teaching is the only art of awakening the natural curiosity of young minds for the purpose of satisfying it afterwards. – Anatole France
3. A Transformative Communicator is concerned with the inner self.
Knowledge of oneself is the most important thing a Transformative Communicator has to learn. Transformation can only happen through an understanding of how the mind, body and spirit work together in one’s life. One focuses on developing himself to be the best he can be. Without understanding oneself, how can one change himself?
The inner self controls everything outside. Man attracts everything according to his consciousness. The consciousness of a person is the inner self, which man has to develop. The power that moves the world is within. Our world is created through our imagination, feelings and thoughts. Where are our thoughts focused on most of the time? If we dwell always on negative thinking, we will move toward the direction of that negative thought and will manifest in the outside world negative manifestations. What influences out thoughts? Basically our habits. What brought about our habits? Our programming. What brought about our programming? Our beliefs.
The personality of a person is the outward manifestation of his programming, beliefs, habits and behavior. Attitude is a result of how one thinks of himself and his views about life. This is an area in one’s life of which many are not able to take control. They think this comes about in their lives while they are unaware of what is happening in their minds because they think they do not have a choice. They just accept things as they come and are not able to discern at the moment whether to accept or reject then in their system. As a result, they are imprisoned by their habits and programming.
To change programming, one has to change one’s beliefs. For change to occur, a new belief has to set in. The old belief has to let go. Letting go is very hard to do especially when one has lived with it for so long that it has already become a habit. Consciously thinking oftentimes of what has to change and supplanting it with something new is the key to transformation. The greatest transformation happens first within oneself.
I will master something, then the creativity will come. – Japanese proverb
4. A Transformative Communicator is proactive.
Transformative Communicators are leaders and they want to change the world for the better. They have a strong determination to achieve what seems to them is a life mission, a new world order. They have a powerful drive to change what needs to be changed, not to just wait for things to happen.
As visionaries, they are ahead of their time. They have already seen the future. And they know the future is beautiful. That is the reason why they are proactive. They want to get things going and are somehow impatient with how things are at present.
Never giving up is a way of life for a Transformative Communicator. He has the willpower to win all his battles although he would much rather prefer a win-win outcome. Being a negotiator is a distinct trait. What is good for him should also be shared with every one.
Since he does not run out of ideas, this communicator just keeps on actively pursuing opportunities that could make things better. He unravels new concepts that have never been tried. He communicates new ideas that could elicit responses to start moving toward certain goals or directions that will bring about a heaven here on earth.
Solving problems to achieve desired results is part of a Transformative Communicator’s daily fare. He welcomes problems because he knows that there are available solutions. For him, a problem is not a problem if it does not have a solution. A plan or a project amounts to nothing if there are no results from it.
Nurture your mind with great thoughts. – Benjamin Disraeli
5. A Transformative Communicator is not judgmental.
Transformative Communicators are open-minded, believe in the free will of people and accept them for what they are. They believe that people can become who they want to be and do what they want to do. They do not condemn because they see only the potential and the possibilities that can unfold through them. The moment one judges another, one reveals his own equivalent negative trait or attitude.
Everything that we see in others whether positive or negative is also inside us. When we accuse another of being a liar, a cheat, a thief or stupid, we also announce that we are also a cheat, a liar, a thief and stupid. That is why a Transformative Communicator always tries to point out mostly the positive and when he sees the negative, he is reminded of what he still has to change inside him. Judging others is another way of saying one is better than the other. When one realizes that he only sees the negative in his situations and in people, he has to check out and analyze a lot of things in his own belief system.
Any kind of prejudice can be a form of violence. The concept of separation has brought this to a level that our society has accepted as part of human nature. “It is okay to kill those outside of our group because we do not believe in the same things and therefore they do not belong to us.” is what we hear most of the time from terrorists, religious groups, countries, fraternities and elitists. This is where humanity’s belief system has brought us.
As long as people think that we should live separate from each other because we do not believe in the same things about religion, culture or lifestyle, we will never achieve oneness in this lifetime. Love has not yet been understood to mean oneness. It is about time that the universal meaning of love and forgiveness be communicated resoundingly to every individual all over the world.
If you judge people, you have no time to love. – Mother Teresa
6. A Transformative Communicator understands the principles of being human and divine.
Awareness of universal laws enables one to enjoy a life of harmony, love, peace, abundance, intelligence, wisdom, beauty, good health and joy. A combined spiritual and metaphysical awareness of the principles guides us in reinventing and transforming our world. Whatever we do is governed by certain laws and principles. We cannot escape that. The law of gravity reminds us that if we fall from a tall building, it will have tragic results. The universal laws are what really make our reality. With every cause that we put into motion, there is a corresponding effect. From our thoughts, there is an equivalent outcome. The results we get are always in accordance with the level of consciousness we have.
We create what we conceive. What one sees in his mind is what he gets. There is a technique to it. The understanding of the laws and principles will guide us through the process of life. But the greatest among these is the belief that God is inside us. Many still think that God is separated from man. If God is omnipresent, meaning God is everywhere, then why is it hard to believe and imagine God being present in everyone? Is it because we feel unworthy? That is another belief religion had promoted unwittingly. Jesus himself emphasized that the kingdom of God is inside us. “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and everything shall be added unto you.” Where will you seek? Within. Read Luke 17: 20-21. Some Pharisees asked Jesus when the Kingdom of God would come. His answer was, “The Kingdom of God does not come in such a way as to be seen. No one will say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or, ‘There it is.’; because the Kingdom of God is within you.”
Most tragedies and misfortunes in man’s life are brought about by man himself. He cannot blame anyone except himself. He attracts them through his negative thoughts. In the same way that he enjoys and receives everything good in life, he attracts them as well. According to his consciousness, he sows what he reaps.
What had been communicated in the past regarding many of our religious beliefs worked negatively for us instead of helping uplift our lives. This effect was caused by the interpretations to which we were subjected. It is about time we communicate alternative interpretations to the ancient spiritual messages especially on God’s nature, suffering, poverty, morality, heaven and hell, sex, free will, life and death.
The mind has exactly the same power as the hands; not merely to grasp the world, but to change it. – Colin Wilson
7. A Transformative Communicator sees perfection.
Purity of thought leads to perfection. Honesty, love, unselfishness, beauty and joy can never materialize except in their purest form. “Be perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect,” said Jesus. The world is perfect. No doubt about it. Unless you believe that God can create something not perfect.
It is just unfortunate that we know better than God and that we created a vision of our world as something imperfect. Why is that so? As long as man cannot see himself as perfect, his world will remain as such. Absolute love is what is supposed to be given There is no other way except to love absolutely. Being absolute is an attribute of perfection. Unconditional love is one and the same as that of being perfect. Divine love is perfect love. But can man love divinely? Only when man will finally accept that he is also a god. “Ye are gods,” Jesus said.
Absolute honesty is what a lot of people cannot comprehend. To many, telling white lies is permissible and it just could not be avoided. Which is easier? To tell a lie or not to tell a lie? When one lies, one has to remember exactly what is said from the beginning and what happens later on is that the lie keeps on adding more lies to sustain the first lie. It would be hard to remember exactly everything said. Sooner or later, you will be found out. Nothing can be kept a secret for long. The truth shall set you free. With a lie, you are trapped.
Absolute unselfishness is not practiced the way it should be. Many still do not understand the principle of giving and receiving. They believe more in what is called the scarcity mentality. They feel that when one gives away something, it is forever lost and will not come back to them. This is why corruption becomes a way of life. One thinks that there is not enough for everyone. Prosperity will not happen until man learns how to give and share.
The world is perfect. It is man who sees it as imperfect. We should change the defective lens we use when we look at everything in this world. But before we see the purity and perfection outside, we must first see the purity and perfection within.
We don’t see things as they are. We see them as we are. – Anais Nin
8. A Transformative Communicator inspires.
One learns only when he is inspired. Nobody can force anyone to learn something unless that person is willing and is inspired to learn. He can only teach himself.
Transformative Communicators know that they do not have all the answers and the only answers are in people themselves. They do not force others to change because they know they cannot change anybody. The only thing they can do is to plant a seed in their consciousness or open their minds in accepting new ideas. And not much can be done unless they are inspired.
Life is boring if one does not have the inspiration to live life to the fullest. No amount of effort will suffice if man falls short of inspiration when he tries to achieve something. Things start to move when momentum is achieved.
The greatest power that can affect someone is inspiration. It is hard to teach a person who is unwilling or uncooperative. But when the decision comes not from outside but from within, everything becomes light. Things happen effortlessly. Without force. Without pressure. Only inspiration.
The Transformative Communicator’s search for meaning in the world compels him to passionately share what he discovers and inspires others to search for the meaning of their own lives as well. To touch and inspire, one has to reach out to the hearts, feelings and emotions of others.
A Transformative Communicator’s aim is to be an example and an inspiration to others. This is the only way he knows best to serve humanity. His life is what others would like to emulate.
The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires. – William Arthur Ward
9. A Transformative Communicator understands relationships and promotes oneness.
Everything that goes on in this world involves relationships – with family, friends, environment, oneself, and with God. Transformative Communicators have a responsibility to build and nurture relationships. Love, peace, and harmony are communicated first to oneself. When individuals see goodness in themselves, they also see the good in others. They feel one with them. There is no separation. There is only oneness. Separation is what we want to overcome. It has been a longtime belief that we are separated from one another. That we are also separated from God. God is up there, we are down here. Unity becomes an impossibility as long as people think that they are separated from each other.
Race, religion, country, gender and class status have separated mankind ever since. Slowly, modern technology is bridging the gap and bringing us closer to each other. Understanding is the key word here. With the unlimited information available now, we are seeing things in a different light. Everything now is exposed and we should take advantage of this especially when we are able to recognize beliefs and things we share with one another. As soon as we are able to see beyond our differences and live more in harmony by acknowledging our sameness, then we will be able to bring about that oneness, which seems so elusive.
Many teachings in the past are still being interpreted in the same manner that they were explained during the ancient times. This is how many interpret and believe in the “ageless truths” that they know and still think that they are still relevant today. The words may be the same but the definitions or interpretations should change through each generation.
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.- Aristotle
10. A Transformative Communicator is passionate.
Nothing big ever happens without passion. Intense passion is the key to bringing about a new world into existence. Passion brings about intense results. It creates from the very core of energy that one is able to muster in achieving certain results.
A passionate person will not stop at anything when he is doing work that springs from love. Enjoying what one is doing is a prerequisite to passion. Enthusiasm, focus, desire, discipline, joy and energy come naturally when passion is present.
A Transformative Communicator passionately helps others discover and understand themselves better. He opens their minds to a level of thinking where they become curious to learn many skills and subjects especially needed for a new world.
Because of their passion, Transformative Communicators always aggressively look for opportunities to promote their message to the public whether they are in a conference, meeting, on radio and television, on the phone, school, wherever. They want an audience to listen to the importance of their message. They get energized and become alive the moment they are in front of an audience. They magically are transformed and so is their audience.
I do not comprehend those rules of conduct that make us so content with self and so cold to those we love. I detest prudence, I even hate (suffer me to say so) those “duties of friendship” which substitute propriety for interest, and circumspection for feeling. How shall I say it? I love the abandonment to impulse, I act from impulse only, and I love to madness that others do the same by me. – Julie de Lespinasse, Letter to the Comte de Guibert
11. A Transformative Communicator is creative.
He creates his desires first through his thoughts and manifest them through his actions. Destinies are created first by thinking, doing and by being. Whatever the Transformative Communicators want to create and make happen in their lives, they imagine it first in their minds. They believe that everything that happens to them is always a result of their own thoughts and actions.
Creativity happens when one thought mingles with another thought. The sum of both thoughts combined with a particular feeling or an emotion will manifest and be created outside depending on the level of consciousness we have.
Transformative Communicators are innovators. They decide on what to do and then look for strategies on how to make it happen. There is nothing impossible to them. They see it first in their minds. Visualization is a key factor here. Like artists, when they get an inspiration, Transformative Communicators begin to work on what they have imagined in their thoughts and turn it into a reality.
Everyone has a God-given talent. It is a unique gift that one has to discover and develop. It is what one does with this talent that becomes his contribution to the service of humanity.
A Transformative Communicator is a co-creator with God. He expresses through his talent the message needed to transform the world. He is able to communicate in a creative manner the ideas that will touch the mind and hearts of people.
Millions of men have lived to fight, shape destinies and societies; but the compelling force of all times has been the force of originality and creation profoundly affecting the roots of human spirit. – Ansel Adams
12. A Transformative Communicator always embraces change.
Change is happening all the time. It is a matter of knowing when to let go of certain things and accepting the new as they come. The world has drastically changed but our beliefs, behaviors and philosophies are still mired in a world that no longer exists. It is hard to get rid of one’s longtime beliefs, habits, principles, values, attitudes and personality traits. It will not be very easy especially when one thinks that he has no other choice except what he had known through the years. But change is inevitable and when one does not allow things to be altered, then, there is going to be a big problem.
Life must conform with accepting changes that will make it align with the universal laws that are in place. It is a process where things are revealed in a manner that only those who are aware will be able to adapt to. Events happen as a result of ones thinking. We should be quick to acknowledge what is happening and the changes it brings. Immediately, we have to decide whether it will be for the better or for the worse.
The only thing that we can change is our way of thinking at present. One has a choice whether to change it. Recognizing whether it is for the good or bad depends on the awareness of the person to discern the consequences that will result from continuously dwelling on a particular thought. If he knows what will happen eventually, immediately he can decide to change or not to change the position or condition of his thoughts.
An assessment of one’s life will determine what has to be changed. Any thought that is not contributing to one’s happiness should be changed. Every habit, programming and belief should be assessed to find out which ones to retain and which ones to drop. Things do not just happen in our lives. We attract every single circumstance that affects us according to our consciousness brought about by our thoughts.
Now is the time to change everything that has to be changed in us. The transformation has to happen first in us.
Our scientific power has outrun our spiritual power. We have guided missiles and misguided men – Martin Luther King Jr.
13. A Transformative Communicator points out the uniqueness in individuals.
One’s uniqueness has a direct relationship with one’s purpose in life. Discovering one’s destiny depends on how authentic one is. The true being appears after unmasking everything that is not genuine or real according to his personality and spirit. His personality is influenced by his outer self while the spirit is touched by his inner self.
Being unique is not only a matter of just being different. What is important to consider is what is outstanding about the person. Being outstanding does not mean that one is superior to others. What is emphasized is one’s mission and contribution to the world. We have our distinct skills, talents or the discipline which could be used as the channel for our mission or cause. Through that channel, one is able to carry out his creation to actualization. The originality in execution depends on how one perceives the world uniquely. Independent-minded individuals are risk- takers and non-conformists.
To be unique is to be you. Yourself. Not somebody else. You are different. Do not try to be like the others. Do not be the same. Do not take the easy path. What do you feel when you do something? Are you excited or just feeling okay? That will determine what you enjoy doing and what you hate. Focus only on those things that you are happy with. Create your own path to reach your destination. The only way to reach your star is to be unique. If you look at legendary movie stars, all of them are original. Nobody is a copycat.
You have to know everything about yourself. Your personality will determine whatever success you will attain. Knowing your strengths and emphasizing and giving them more importance in your life rather than your weaknesses will help you achieve your impossible dreams.
Success will not lower its standard to us. We must raise our standard to success. – Rev. Randall R. McBride Jr.
14. A Transformative Communicator listens to his inner voice.
No matter where we are and what we do, there is always a voice from inside us that usually speaks to us. We ignore it every so often but it constantly reminds us of what we should do. Finally, when we listen and heed its words, we experience peace and joy. It leads us to an understanding of how we should live our lives.
Transformative Communicators also hear voices of other people inside them. They can feel the pain of others or what they are thinking. They sense an urgency to do what they can to help other people.
Usually we do not hear a real voice talking inside us but sometimes there is an urgency that is brought about by our feelings. We react to a feeling that is being felt at the moment. We take action immediately and right at that moment there appears to be an answer to why we felt it in the first place.
When we pray, it seems that we are the only one doing the talking. Somehow we feel that the other party is absent. But as we continue talking, there seems to be an overlap in our monologue and we realize that God is conversing with us without recognizing whose voice He is using in talking to us. Suddenly, we get answers and we acknowledge the fact that God indeed talks to us.
We need to keep in touch with our inner voice. In prayer, in meditation, wherever or whatever we are doing we need to find time for our communication or, better, our communion with God.
Sometimes the heart sees what is invisible to the eye. – H. Jackson Brown Jr.
15. A Transformative Communicator dreams big.
There is always a choice – either big or small, sadness or happiness, rich or poor, good health or sickness. The best choice is always available but somehow man insists upon his limitations, which make his life miserable. Transformative Communicators will never be entrapped in such shortcomings because they have the power to choose and create what they want best for themselves.
Everything depends on how we view life. Is it through limitation or fullness? Is it by exposing ourselves to see all possibilities or imprisoning our minds in our past frustrations? One’s paradise can be reached either through fantasizing or by making it a reality. People who believe they are creators are the only ones who can realize their dreams. They do their creating through ingenious thinking and imaginative ideas. They are divergent thinkers and are always curious about things.
Man has been lamenting there is not much to harvest in this world. That life is getting harder by the day. That there are only those who are lucky. But most of those who had stable jobs now find themselves out of work or earning less. The world has changed but that does not mean that there are no more opportunities out there. Transformative Communicators know that it is up to us to remain where we are or switch our beliefs to a more positive, more prosperous thinking that will attract the best and ensure more prosperity in our life.
Our desires are important to consider also. It does not follow that we will automatically receive what we want. We want the good life but have we prepared our thoughts to match the good life we want?
Throw your dreams into space like a kite, and you do not know what it will bring back, a new life, a new friend, a new love, a new country. – Anais Nin, The Diaries of Anais Nin
16. A Transformative Communicator serves others.
He believes in a cause. His cause is to inspire individual empowerment and raise the spirit of man toward oneness. The best way to serve is to know what one can do to make others happy. But before one can make other people happy, he himself has to be happy first. You cannot give something that you do not have. A person can become happy with himself if he understands himself first. Knowing the things and activities that will make one happy is a must for every Transformative Communicator. Doing something one hates will just make others including oneself miserable. Serving others can be a truly rewarding endeavor when one finds joy in doing so. Sharing material things, time and talent with others is a principle wherein one gets back everything doubled after giving it first.
In serving others, action is better than talk. Although communication is the process by which Transformative Communicators do their job, they can also tap it to serve others by inspiring them with positive messages to keep them strong and steadfast. If only practitioners in the print and broadcast media will write and talk only about constructive and positive messages, our world will enjoy a new bright future sans chaos, wars and other disasters.
How can we be of service to others? Just by being who we are supposed to be. Doing what is expected of us a citizens - paying our taxes, respecting the elders, cleaning our streets and supporting government projects are just a few of the expectations.
Everyone has to contribute or do something. Whatever that will be, that is what is supposed to make a difference for you in this world. Unless you know what you stand for, chances are you will not be able to find out what will make you happy.
Only a life lived in the service to others is worth living. – Albert Einstein
17. A Transformative Communicator emphasizes balance.
Health, wealth, love and success have to be balanced. One’s spirituality depends on how balanced these areas are. How can one enjoy his wealth when most of the time he is sick? A truly spiritual person is a happy, healthy, wealthy, successful and a loving one. If there is one area missing, there is a problem with one’s spiritual nature.
Do not confuse spirituality with religiosity. Since man is also a spirit, he is entitled to a spiritual life. A truly spiritual person enjoys life, possesses wisdom and intelligence, lives peacefully and joyfully, always sees the beauty of everything and is always filled with love.
There is nothing wrong with being rich. Everybody should be rich. Is that not what was promised to us by God? That we will live abundantly here on earth. Becoming rich becomes a problem only when the other areas suffer due to neglect, when one area becomes a priority over others.
Time is of the essence. Managing time is tricky because how will one know if he has spent more time in one area than the rest? Proper scheduling can be done and keeping an organizer can help.
Enjoyment in every area should be of paramount importance. This is basically what life is all about. Having a weekly assessment will determine the quality of life one is living. These areas constitute our state of heavenly bliss that we are supposed to be experiencing. Are we experiencing heaven or are we experiencing hell?
Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep. – Scott Adams
18. A Transformative Communicator lives in the now.
The past is gone and the future has yet to arrive. There is only the present, the moment, the now. It is only the present that can be controlled, changed or experienced. Whatever we do with the present will affect everything in us. This is the only moment where we can see what is going on, feel the sensation and taste life. There is no other time. It is the now that is our only real time.
Our life is lived only in the present. The harmony, the love, the abundance, the peace, the joy are only experienced in the now. If you are not experiencing any of this, you are not living in the now. To hope or long for any of these just proves that you do not have them now.
Time is an illusion. Ask any pilot when his plane passes through time zones. He gets different answers at once according to the speed of his plane. When we watch the world celebrate New Year’s Eve on television, we witness the countdown every half hour in several countries. Here is an example where we can see time in the past, present, and the future happening all at the same time.
But the question is what do we do now? What can we do now? Why do we want to do it now? Who will do it now? Do I have the time to do it now? Unless we give these queries serious thought, nothing will happen. Our answers will determine the course of our destiny.
There is power in the now. The only power we have is in the now. If we are not living our life to the fullest now, we are not experiencing the blessings as promised that the Kingdom of God is at hand now. Within each of us.
I am in the present. I cannot know what tomorrow will bring forth. I can only know what the truth is for me today. That is what I am called upon to serve and I serve it in all lucidity. – Igor Stravinsky
19. A Transformative Communicator is courageous.
Letting go of the past is hard to do. Many beliefs have been embedded for so many years and changing them would seem to be impossible. Many fears appear and it takes a lot of courage to face them. Unless we become brave enough to confront our beliefs, nothing will change.
Fear of being criticized, judged, condemned are so strong that only with a courageous heart can one conquer them. To understand is not to fear. Courage is to do something in spite of fear. Being courageous in this world entails a conviction that man is a spiritual being and one never dies. Understanding the fear of death makes a person invincible.
Fear is the absence of love. Without love, there is no faith, no trust, no joy, no kindness, no patience, no compassion. Without love, one lives a life of being afraid of almost everything and everyone at every moment. Being scared of life would make a person paranoid. Understanding is the key to courage. Understanding is the power behind courage. Knowledge and understanding of the universal laws and principles will empower an individual to give him the courage to face any fear in any situation.
There is one fear that has to be overcome. The various interpretations of this particular fear have caused most of the confusion, chaos, violence and wars in the world.
This is the fear of God. Why fear God who is all-good, all-loving, and all-compassion? Instead of us being God-fearing, we should become a God-loving people.
The courage to change things in spite of insults, ridicule or public humiliation makes us heroes. The courage to face the uncertain makes impossible dreams come true. The courage to change ourselves is to change our destiny.
Courage is the power to let go of the familiar. – Raymond Lindquist
20. A Transformative Communicator never stops learning.
One lifetime is not enough. It is a continuous learning and transforming process. Man’s mind is able to perceive only what he is programmed to starting from his early years up to the present. Everything in one’s programming determines one’s consciousness.
What are the stumbling blocks to one’s evolution of consciousness? Many of our negative habits, attitude problems and our limited views on life are the ones contributing to our getting stuck at a certain level.
The quality of one’s life is a reflection of one’s level of consciousness. To be able to experience the heavenly joys here on earth, one must attune his mind to the positive side of life and stay focused there all the time. Maximizing spiritual power can make a person perform many miracles. Actually, what we call miracles are just ordinary manifestations to an individual with a high level of consciousness. To achieve this, one must study the art and science of life. What appears as a complex subject matter is not really as hard or complicated to learn as it may seem. One just has to start where he is, recall what he knows already, analyze his situation, change whatever has to be changed and start learning more on how to make his life better.
In this day and age, so much information is accessible and the problem we have is how to choose which ones can be useful to us. Much of the knowledge at present that we are using are already inadequate in many instances. New researches, new discoveries and new theories are very important for us to study to cope with the overwhelming changes that are affecting our lives. We cannot ignore that our educational system has failed to come up with a new model to replace the obsolete. We already have the new knowledge we can learn from and it is about time that we take away from the academe the responsibility of imparting it for the benefit of many more.
But it’s not just learning things that’s important. It’s learning what to do with what you learn and learning why you learn things at all that matters. – Norton Juster, The Phantom Tollbooth
The world is now experiencing a perplexed period of transition wherein we now clearly see Transformative Communicators become new leaders who can inspire and energize others. In this age of great change and uncertainty, there are new opportunities and challenges to be faced, but only those who are creative, those who have the right imagination of a new world will flourish. It is about time that this new breed of people called Transformative Communicators share their vision of oneness and map out a new future where greatness reigns in each one by being men and women of great thoughts and great actions.
