WHY WE BELIEVE LIES

WHY WE BELIEVE LIES

As human beings, we often find ourselves believing lies that have been ingrained in our minds for various reasons, ultimately shaping our perceptions and decisions. This phenomenon can be attributed to several factors that influence our thinking and behavior, leading us to accept falsehoods as truths. Let's explore six key reasons why we fall victim to these lies and how they affect our lives.

Firstly, we have been programmed to fear change. Throughout history, societal norms and cultural influences have instilled in us a deep-seated aversion to change. This fear of the unknown often leads us to accept familiar falsehoods rather than embracing new, unfamiliar truths. Our resistance to change can prevent us from challenging established beliefs, hindering personal and societal growth.

Secondly, we are addicted to certainty. The human mind craves stability and predictability, seeking reassurance in the familiar and the expected. This addiction to certainty makes us vulnerable to accepting lies that offer a sense of security, even if they are fundamentally flawed. As a result, we may overlook contradictory evidence and cling to falsehoods for the sake of maintaining a sense of stability.

Thirdly, we were hypnotized to prioritize survival and security. From an evolutionary standpoint, humanity has been hardwired to prioritize survival, often at the expense of critical thinking and rational analysis. This primal instinct can lead us to accept lies that promise safety and security, even when they are detrimental to our well-being in the long run.

Fourthly, we were brainwashed to fear the unknown. Fear of the unknown is a powerful force that can cloud our judgment and lead us to accept false information simply because it aligns with our preconceived notions. This fear can be exploited by those who seek to manipulate and control us, perpetuating falsehoods that prey on our insecurities and uncertainties.

Fifthly, we are used to being miserable. Ingrained patterns of negativity and pessimism can lead us to accept lies that validate our feelings of discontent. This acceptance of falsehoods can further perpetuate a cycle of misery, preventing us from seeking the truth and embracing positive change.

Lastly, we are immobilized by indecision due to our fear of making mistakes. The paralyzing fear of making a wrong choice can lead us to accept lies as a way to avoid the discomfort of decision-making. This fear of making mistakes can imprison us in a state of inertia, preventing us from critically evaluating information and making informed decisions.

In conclusion, the human tendency to believe lies is a complex interplay of psychological, cultural, and societal factors. Understanding these influences is crucial in breaking free from the grip of falsehoods and embracing a more discerning and enlightened approach to our beliefs and decisions. By cultivating a willingness to question established narratives and confront our fears, we can strive to overcome the allure of falsehoods and pursue a path guided by truth and authenticity.

Filipino Mentality: Understanding Common Mindsets

Filipino Mentality: Understanding Common Mindsets

The Filipino culture is rich and diverse, shaped by a unique history and a fusion of various influences. One aspect that characterizes the Filipino mentality is the presence of certain mindsets or attitudes that are commonly observed in society. In this article, we will explore five of these mindsets.

1. Ukay-Ukay Mentality:
The "Ukay-Ukay Mentality" refers to the inclination of Filipinos towards second-hand or thrifted items. The term "ukay-ukay" itself is derived from the Filipino word for "digging" or "sifting through." This mindset reflects the resourcefulness and practicality of Filipinos in making the most out of limited resources. It is not uncommon to find individuals who proudly wear pre-loved clothes or use second-hand items, embracing the idea that value can be found in items that others may discard.

2. Biglang Yaman Mentality:
The "Biglang Yaman Mentality" pertains to the desire to become rich or prosperous quickly and effortlessly. It is characterized by the belief that success and wealth can be achieved overnight, often through shortcuts or get-rich-quick schemes. This mentality is fueled by the aspiration for a better life and the hope of escaping poverty. While it is natural to desire financial stability, it is important to recognize the importance of hard work, perseverance, and long-term planning in achieving sustainable success.

3. Scarcity Mentality:
The "Scarcity Mentality" is rooted in the fear of scarcity and the belief that resources are limited. It manifests in behaviors such as hoarding, excessive thriftiness, and a reluctance to share or collaborate. This mentality may stem from historical experiences of poverty and a deep-seated fear of not having enough. Overcoming the scarcity mentality involves shifting towards an abundance mindset, recognizing that resources can be created, shared, and multiplied through cooperation and innovation.

4. Pakitang Tao Mentality:
The "Pakitang Tao Mentality" revolves around the desire to maintain a positive image or reputation in the eyes of others. It often involves excessive concern for appearances and an emphasis on outward displays of success or happiness. This mentality can lead to a tendency to prioritize external validation over personal well-being and authenticity. It is important to strike a balance between seeking validation and staying true to oneself, focusing on personal growth and fulfillment rather than solely on how one is perceived by others.

5. Crab Mentality:
The "Crab Mentality" is perhaps one of the most widely recognized mindsets in Filipino culture. It refers to the tendency of individuals to pull down or undermine those who are achieving success or making progress. This mindset stems from a sense of envy, competition, and the fear of being left behind. Overcoming the crab mentality requires fostering a culture of support, collaboration, and celebrating the achievements of others. By uplifting one another, Filipinos can create a more inclusive and empowering society.

Understanding Filipino mindsets provides insights into the psyche and culture. Each mindset has strengths and weaknesses, coexisting in society. Understanding fosters empathy, promotes positive change, and builds an inclusive and progressive Filipino society.

THOUGHT SHOCKER: I make people think deeply about the issues that matter and challenge them to consider alternative viewpoints.

THOUGHT SHOCKER: I make people think deeply about the issues that matter and challenge them to consider alternative viewpoints.

I don't have a large following on social media, with just 153 subscribers on my Kamalayan YouTube channel. Because of this, I don't consider myself an influencer. Similarly, I can't claim to be a thought leader because I am only leading myself and my own thoughts.

Lately, the title that I feel best describes what I do is "Thought Shaker." In my advocacy for Kamalayan, a term that means awareness or consciousness, I aim to challenge and shake people's beliefs. I want to encourage them to question the status quo and explore new perspectives. I want to create a space for critical thinking and personal growth.

When I create vlogs on YouTube, I often refer to myself as a "Thought Shocker." This title reflects my intention to provoke thoughts and spark conversations. I want to make people think deeply about the issues that matter and challenge them to consider alternative viewpoints.

The Holy Bible, particularly the Old Testament, contains passages that can be challenging to understand and reconcile with our perception of God. One such issue is the mention of God regretting or being sorry for creating humans and other living creatures. It's a valid question to wonder why, after two millennia, no one has made an effort to edit these passages.

“God regretted and the Lord was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.” (Genesis 6:6)

“So the Lord said, I will destroy men whom I have created from the face of the earth, both men and animals and the creeping things and the fowls of the air. I am sorry that I have made them.” (Genesis 6:7)

“And the Lord regretted that he had made Saul king over Israel.” (1 Samuel 15:35)

“And the Lord sent an angel to Jerusalem to destroy it, and he was destroying it and the Lord saw, and considered it, and averted the disaster.” (1 Chronicles 21:15)

Upon realizing that the God of Catholicism not only possessed anger and jealousy but also intended to destroy all of His creations after regretting their existence, I decided to distance myself from the Catholic faith.

Consider the fact that the Holy Scripture acknowledges that God can make mistakes and deeply regret them. Nevertheless, according to the Vatican, the Pope is deemed infallible when speaking ex cathedra.

It was during this period that I encountered extraterrestrial beings who claimed responsibility for the events depicted in biblical stories. They guided me through my intuition my further study of the bible, altering my perspective.

Yearly Life Cycles

Yearly Life Cycles

Did you ever notice that things evolve in the same manner, every year at about the same time? Did you know that you go through 7 cycles every year?

You can help yourself by working with your cycles...instead of against them!

They can also help you to become aware about yourself.

You can find your own personal cycles by using a simple calculation. The first cycle starts on your birthday, and each of the 7 cycles lasts 52 days. (7x52=364).

Example: my birthday is July 6, so the first cycle is from July 6 (+52 days) to August 27. The second is from August 28 to October 17, and so on. The last cycle will end on the day before my birthday, so that the first cycle will start again on my next birthday.

You only have to find your personal cycle numbers once, because it's always the same, year after year.

You will find it interesting to see how the cycles worked for you in the past, by looking at what happened to you in the same period, every year of your life.

Enjoy!

First Cycle

This is the period of opportunity. It is the best time to advance your interests with others who may have the power and influence to help you. This is the time to ask for favors, to seek employment or loans or business concessions, to form partnerships or to make investments. This is also a good time to advance yourself among the people of your city, state or country, to build up your credit standing or your reputation. This is the best time for you to push yourself forward with determination so far as your name, your integrity and your honor are concerned.

Second Cycle

The second period is distinctly different. It is the best time to plan short journeys or trips of immediate importance. It is also an excellent time for moving about, if that should prove necessary. In other words this is a period propitious for changes that can be started and finished within the period itself. In a business way it is a good period for movable things such as freight, cargoes, automobiles, trains, public conveyances, or even public lectures or performances which may move from place to place. It also presents excellent opportunities for those who deal with liquids, milk, water, chemicals, gasoline, oil and other products of this character. Dealing with people who are in business associated with the foregoing will be more successful at this time than at any other. This is also a very good period for businesses which cater to transients such as hotels, restaurants, car rentals and similar services. However, one should not plan a change of business or start a new career or make any permanent change during this period, and contracts and other arrangements that are intended to last a long time should not be entered into. It is an unfavorable period to borrow or lend money and it is not good for starting the construction of a building or entering upon a project that requires a substantial investment. Certainly it is a most unfavorable period to speculate in the stock market or to gamble in any form.

Third Cycle

This period requires that you exercise discrimination and good judgment. It usually brings a great inflow of energy which makes you want to do great and important things. If directed carefully this can be the best time in the year to improve your health or build up your business or do anything that requires the expenditure of energy. However, good judgment is needed. You will be tempted to undertake projects which have no possibility of success or which may take so long to develop that you will have to abandon them before completion. But this is a great time to tackle and overcome obstacles that have blocked progress in the past, to make a strong second effort to solve problems earlier abandoned because of lack of energy. It is a great time for dealing with things that require great energy such as iron and steel, electrical machinery, cutlery, sharp instruments and fire. It is also a particularly good period to oppose competitors or deal with enemies who have heretofore been obstacles in your path. It is an unfavorable period for men or women to try to deal with women but on the other hand it is an excellent period for women to appeal to men when desiring favors or preferment or aid in business or social matters. Arguments and strife should be avoided because the outcome is very apt to be bad, but if you have something to sell which can be put across in one forceful interview, this is the best period.

Fourth Cycle

In this period the mental and spiritual nature is stimulated. It is thus an excellent period for writing books, producing plays, making plans, for all the matters requiring imagination and quick thinking and the ability to express your thoughts lucidly. Your mind will be filled with new ideas which will come very rapidly, so it is important that you grasp them quickly and put them into practice before they are forgotten or pushed aside by the new thoughts which will crowd upon their heels. It is therefore a good period to act on impulse or hunches. You will be optimistic in this period but somewhat nervous and restless, which is to be expected with your imagination highly charged. It is a good period to deal with literary people, writers, journalists, book or magazine publishers, but be careful to scrutinize all legal and other documents most carefully because deception is possible and it is a period when falsehood is as eloquently and easily expressed as the truth. Most great losses through robbery or deception or misunderstood legal situations occur in this period and you should take precautions to protect yourself. However, it is a good time for study and for gaining information and knowledge, but it is not a propitious period to enter marriage, to hire help or to buy homes, businesses or land.

Fifth Cycle

This is the period in which it is possible for you to achieve your greatest success in your personal affairs. This is the time in your yearly cycle when your interests will expand and your prosperity increase. Your mind likewise will become a more effective instrument, sharper and clearer, you will become more open in your relations with others, move with more confidence and display sociability, benevolence and sympathy. This is the best period for dealing with the law, with lawyers and judges, the courts, government officials, men of prominence in the profession and people of wealth. It is also a good period to begin new ventures that may take some time to grow, to plan large business negotiations or to undertake long journeys. It is particularly good for collecting money due or for speculations in stock or real estate, but be sure to avoid every negotiation that is not completely legitimate. Also avoid any dealings in cattle or meat products or with marine affairs.

Sixth Cycle

This is the best time in your yearly cycle for rest, relaxation and amusement. This does not mean that business will not prosper. On the contrary, all good and legitimate business will continue with almost as much success as in the preceding period. However, now is the time to make long or short trips for the purpose of renewing friendships or for cultivating new friends, men among women and women among men, and to renew and improve friendships and relations that already exist. It is a particularly fortunate time for business matters that touch upon art, music, literature, sculpture, perfumes, flowers and personal adornments. It is a good period for a man to seek preferment or favors or business agreement or cooperation from a woman, just as the third period is better for women to obtain such favors from men. It is the best period to buy stocks or bonds for investment and to employ others.

Seventh Cycle

This is the most critical period of your yearly cycle. During these fifty-two days the elements in your life that are no longer needed for your development gradually fall away in order to make way for those which are new and better. Often this will cause distress and a sense of loss and may tempt you to foolish actions and decisions. Remember it is a period of seeming devolution which always precedes a period of evolution and new opportunity. Take advantage of the momentum in this period to rid yourself of the old and unwanted, but be sure to exercise good judgment. If there is something that has been hanging fire and is about to end, let it do so, but do not deliberately break ties or destroy relationships that have vitality and are still valuable. For the reasons mentioned, your mind is likely to become despondent and you will be easily discouraged. Remember you are being influenced by the quality of the period you are in and do not permit the pessimism you feel to warp your judgment or inhibit your decisions. The qualities of this period exert very subtle influences and it is necessary that you be much more alert than normal in appraising your feelings and your reactions to external influences. In the Fourth Period it is advisable to seize immediately upon your ideas or hunches and make quick decisions. Now the reverse is true. Impulsiveness will bring disaster. Be careful in all necessary judgments and postpone to the next period every decision possible. However, this is a good period for dealing with older people and those who by their nature or position must consider each action most carefully. It is also an excellent time for inventing things or dealing in inventions or for applying for patents or copyrights. Now you will have success in dealing in real estate, mines, minerals and all things deeply seated in the earth or in hidden places. On the other hand, it is definitely the least favorable time of your year to start anything new or launch a new business or to make new expenditures in an old one.

The Only Relationship That Truly Matters: Loving Yourself

The Only Relationship That Truly Matters: Loving Yourself

In life, we often seek meaningful and lasting relationships with others. We crave connection, understanding, and love from those around us. But amidst this pursuit, we sometimes forget the most important relationship we can ever have—the one with ourselves.

When we talk about the relationship we have with ourselves, it's not about being self-centered or selfish. It's about self-love, self-acceptance, and self-awareness. It's about knowing who we are, understanding our strengths and weaknesses, and embracing our imperfections.

As we grow and evolve, we come to realize that we are the only constant presence in our lives. Others may come and go, but we will always be with ourselves. Therefore, it becomes crucial to cultivate a deep and meaningful relationship with the person we spend every moment with—ourselves.

When we truly know ourselves, we become comfortable in our own skin. We no longer rely on others to complete us or make us happy. We understand that we are already whole and complete individuals. This newfound self-assurance allows us to navigate relationships with others from a place of strength and authenticity.

Loving ourselves doesn't mean we become arrogant or dismissive of others. It means we value ourselves, our needs, and our boundaries. It means treating ourselves with kindness, compassion, and respect. When we genuinely love ourselves, we set a standard for how we expect others to treat us. We attract healthier and more fulfilling relationships because we are not seeking validation or completion from others.

Moreover, when we are in a solid relationship with ourselves, we become more open and accepting of others. We are more willing to understand their perspectives, respect their boundaries, and appreciate their unique qualities. Instead of trying to change others to fit our expectations, we embrace their individuality and celebrate the diversity of human experiences.

It is also essential to remember that the responsibility of loving ourselves lies within us, not others. No one else can fill the void within us or provide us with the love we seek. We must take ownership of our self-worth and actively practice self-care, self-compassion, and self-growth. Only then can we truly love and be loved by others.

Ultimately, the relationship we have with ourselves sets the foundation for all other relationships in our lives. It impacts how we relate to our family, friends, romantic partners, and even colleagues. By nurturing a strong and loving relationship with ourselves, we can create healthier connections with others and experience deeper fulfillment in our interactions.

So, the next time you look in the mirror, remember that the love of your life is staring back at you. Embrace your uniqueness, cherish your worth, and commit to loving yourself wholeheartedly. When you establish a meaningful and lasting relationship with yourself, there is no one you can't get along with, because you have already found the most amazing person in your life—yourself.
